Paramount Skydance Plans to Cut Approximately 2,000 United States Roles – News

Paramount Skydance will initiate mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, removing approximately 2,000 American roles under a budget-saving initiative worth $2bn led by CEO David Ellison.

The layoffs come after the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August valued at $8.4bn.

Further global layoffs are anticipated, as the firm intending to disclose all specifics via its third-quarter financial update scheduled for November 10.

Prior news had indicated the company was looking to cut between 2,000 and 3,000 positions by early November.

As of December 2024, Paramount employed almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts along with 3,500 temporary project employees.

The company has not provided a response on the matter.
