The Brazilian star Issues Sincere Sorry to Real Madrid Devotees
Vinicius Jr has registered five strikes in 10 La Liga appearances so far this term.
The Madrid giants winger Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to the fanbase for his conduct when substituted in Sunday's fiery El Clasico win.
The Brazilian was taken off in the second half and showed his disappointment by heading directly off the pitch.
Vinicius subsequently came back to the dugout and, after his side's 2-1 win, sought to engage Barcelona's opposing player during unpleasant after the game exchanges.
"Today I want to say sorry to all the Real Madrid fans for my behavior when I was substituted in the big match," he wrote on his account.
"In the same way as I have said in person during today's practice, I also want to express regret anew to my team-mates, the club, and the club president.
"Occasionally passion overcomes me because I constantly desire to win and support my club. My competitive character comes from the passion I have for this team and each thing it symbolizes."
The player moved to the Spanish capital from Brazil in 2018 for a significant fee and has scored triple figures in 335 appearances.
But his future in the La Liga is far from certain with speculation in recent months suggesting that the club would think about permitting the player move on if they got a good proposal.
When Vinicius was substituted on Sunday, cameras from coverage provider Dazn recorded him stating: "Always me! I'm departing the side! It's better if I go, I'm moving on."
In his most recent post on social media, the athlete said: "I commit to keep striving every second for the welfare of Los Blancos, as I have acted since the initial arrival."
